Last night we got seats on Deck 8 and watched a game show. It was called Movie Mayhem. One of the rounds had the entertainment staff acting out key scenes in movies. The teams had to guess the movie title and then answer questions. They had to be specific. And one of the follow-up questions was who the director was.
After the game we went to dinner at the Americana Diner. During most nights, this has a comfort food menu. But tonight they had the gala night menu. Angie and I both ordered filet and lobster.
Pretty tasty!! No dessert as usual.
After dinner we got seats on Deck 8 at the Crooner Bar. We watched the Marriage Match game show. The cruise director has three couples as contestants. Newlyweds, a couple married twenty to thirty years and then a couple married the longest. They had trouble finding couples. The "newlyweds" were married for three years. The middle couple was married for thirteen and the oldest couple was twenty years. It works like the old Newlywed game show where they ask questions to find out which couple knows more about each other. Usually entertaining. Although the funniest couple is almost always the ones married the longest. After the game, the cruise director brought out crew representing all the hotel departments and they held small flags from their countries.
The crew work so hard for six to nine months at a time and it's nice to see them recognized.
Then we watched a great set of music from the party band XCite. They played all the dance favorites and had the dance floor full!! Then the DJ took over and did a pretty good job. Although at times she had a full dance floor, and then would play a slow song. Maybe a request? And the dance floor would be cleared. I've never been a nightclub DJ. However I would think you'd observe that the song you're playing isn't resonating with the crowd and you move on or mix in something else. It was then time to head to the cabin.
Today is the last sea day of this cruise. Over dinner last night, Angie and I made a list of what things we still wanted to do. We'll see if we can accomplish some of those over the next three days. Dining room breakfast is one of them. On port days, the main dining room has an Express Breakfast limited menu. For example, they don't offer omelettes or eggs Benedict. But on sea days it's an expanded menu. That may be one thing off the list today.
We won't be getting off the ship in Barcelona (Saturday) and Sunday is another sea day. Monday we'll be in Gibraltar.
