Seabourn Venture Arctic expedition part 5

We were able to stand on the wings of the forward engine room on deck 5 as we headed into the sea ice. You can get a better idea of how the ship navigates through the ice. We were at approximately 80° north which is the furthest north we will reach on this journey.

We were a little disappointed it was so foggy. If the weather conditions had been better, we could have traveled further north and parked in the ice overnight. This is the best chance for polar bears to get close without violating the regulations.
