Seabourn Venture Arctic expedition part 2

Yesterday we went out on our first zodiac cruise on this expedition.
We toured around the glacier and icebergs - pieces of ice that have calved from the glacier. Did you know there are generally three size classifications of icebergs? Growlers are less than three feet in height and less than sixteen feet in length. Bergy Bits are between three and thirteen feet high and less than forty six feet in length. After that they are just "bergs" of small, medium , large and extra large.

We saw so much wildlife!! Puffins!! Arctic terns!! A walrus with huge tusks!! And a Bearded Seal!!

Plus some other Arctic birds. Once we got back onboard we needed some refreshment so it was time for some caviar and sparkling wine!! You can request caviar on Seabourn anytime you'd like it and the crew prepares it for you. After a mandatory rest period, we went to The Club for a pre dinner "Buble" show where the cruise director sang some classics. We also had some sushi and the chef made us his special roll. All kinds of good things including my favorite BBQ eel!!

Dinner was at the Collonade where they had a delicious leek and potato soup. Then it was back to The Club for a special movie themed set from the guitar duo from Argentina. They played some less well known songs from movies including "Against All Odds".

This morning the expedition leader came over the PA system into the cabins and announced they had spotted some polar bears. They happened to be at our planned landing site. They were quite far off the starboard bow. Two "white dots" with the naked eye. They did show a zoomed in picture on the television. The bears caused a change in plans.
So we're at a new spot where there is a glacier, some growlers and probably some Bergy Bits!! And the zodiacs are lowered right outside our balcony!! We'll head out in a zodiac about 11 AM local time. We're still five hours ahead of EST.
