Seabourn Venture Arctic expedition part 7

The zodiacs took us on a short five minute ride to Skarsvag. Skarsvag is a really small fishing village in the north of Norway. It's claimed to be the northern most settlement in the world accessible via a road. It has a population of approximately 200 people. All adults. No children. No schools. No hospitals. One restaurant. The rest is just houses, fishing cabins and a fish processing plant. The nearest "big" city is three hours away by car. The Nordkapp (North Cape) is about ten miles away up a narrow, winding road. On a clear day, you can see amazing views. It wasn't a clear day today.

On our way back from Nordkapp we stopped at a roadside stand where you could see reindeer along with someone from the Sami indigenous tribe.

Tonight's our last night onboard. The Executive Chef has a special culinary event at 5:15. This same event on the Pursuit had the best bites of the sailing. Excited to see what they offer. Hopefully some Raclette!! Dinner is titled a "Seafood Extravaganza" where they may have King Crab!! Tomorrow we'll debark in Tromso where we'll stay the night before flying to Helsinki.
