Sun Princess Part 5: Taoromina, Sicily

This morning started with breakfast in the main dining room.  American Breakfast, Cold European Breakfast along with buckwheat pancakes.  Then we met for our tour at 10:15.  Onboard the bus by 10:30 for the fifty minute drive to Taoromina.  We saw a glimpse of Mount Atna and what appears to be wisps of smoke.  Then we had lunch. 
 A tasty eggplant sandwich on buttered toast.
  Thinly sliced and perfectly cooked along with a simple tomato sauce..  Excellent!!  For mains we had Tagliatelle with fish of the day and Busciate with a pistachio cream and bacon. 
 Similar to a carbonara.  All very tasty. Then a walk back to the bus which called for a stop for some creamy pistachio gelato and prickly pear granite!!   Both refreshing and welcome on a warm day.  It reached 34!!   Now on the bus back to the port.  Maybe a short nap.  We'll put in some laundry.   Then plan the evening.  We have a speciality dinner tonight at The Catch which as you might expect it is a steak restaurant.   Just kidding.  It' focuses on seafood.  It's a restaurant from chef Rudi Sodamin. We've eaten at his restaurants on HAL Koningsdam and Carnival Mardi Gras so we're excited to see what it's like on the Sun Princess.
