Copenhagen, Denmark

Yesterday was our last day in Copenhagen. We had a late start to the day and had an early lunch at a place located inside Torvehallerne which was the place we visited during our food tour. We knew we didn't want any more smorrebrod!! While delicious, we really needed something that wasn't smorrebrod. We found a place that had some tasty pasta. I had linguine with Bolognese and Angie had linguine with mussels. Both very good.

After lunch we headed to Politi Museet, or in English the Police Museum. The whole bottom level was dedicated to the history of the police force, from the uniforms, weapons and just daily practices. It was the upstairs exhibits which were truly fascinating. Some of you may remember when Angie and I visited Beijing about ten years ago. One of our favorite stops was at their police museum. They had exhibits on many different cases, including all the evidence used to convict, from the guns used for murder, a bloody shirt or the bag of money. This museum was similar. They had several rooms showcasing high profile cases, including the evidence. One exhibit had a surfboard that had been configured to hold anti-tank missiles. Another had the masks the gangs used as disguises. Another had the DNA evidence. And then there were drawers underneath each exhibit that you could pull out. And in each drawer was more information on each piece of evidence. It would be a True Crime podcast fans dream!! You could spend hours here just going through all the information.

After the museum we had a quick stop for an adult beverage and some french fries. Then it was back to the hotel to get our luggage and checkout. We took a taxi to CPH to check-in for our flight to LGW (London Gatwick). A quick ninety minute flight and we were there!! We stayed at the Sofitel hotel which is at the airport so it was easy to navigate once we got thorough immigration. That process was so fast. Many countries are installing kiosks where you just scan your passport and go. No interaction with an immigration officer. In today's electronic world, they know you're coming before you get there. If they want to detain you, you'd know well before coming to the kiosk.

We checked into our room and then had dinner at the Thai restaurant inside the hotel. Some delicious spring rolls, Green Curry with Chicken and Vegetarian Pad Thai. Then back to our room since we had an early wakeup this morning. Up at 4:15 and met our driver at 5:30. Where are we headed? Stay tuned. It might get "rocky".

I will be going "dark" starting this evening for the next seven nights. Angie and I will be on the Queen Mary 2 ocean liner crossing back to Brooklyn. We won't have internet. So if you don't see any updates, that will be the reason. If you want to follow the ships progress "across the pond", you can go to marinetraffic dot com and enter the ships name.
