Sea Days

Most Sea Days, we get up. I work for a while. Glenn and I head to the buffet and the grab a table by the Mixx outside bar. We play games or I continue to work. We usually have pizza or the grill for lunch. We head down to the cabin for a nap. In the evening, we visit the Vines to see our favorite crew member - Bien. We head to happy hour at Club Fusion to see Gusti and usually end the night playing the games in the Explorers' Lounge.

Glenn gives a full update of yesterday:

Yesterday was yet another sea day!!   We started with the daily brainteaser the cruise director provides each day on his Wake Show.   See if you can guess the answer.  I'll post it at the end.

While Angie finished up some work, I went for a light breakfast and we met up later by the Mix Bar at our favorite table for some Chai Tea. Really needed that since it was a bit colder than the three prior sea days although the sun did peak out occasionally.  We needed to grab some blankets from the ship to wrap around us. But the fresh air felt wonderful!!   We had a little pizza and a rosemary chicken sandwich for some lunch.  Then we played a game of Quirkle.  A close game but Angie came out victorious by about twenty five points.  It was getting a little colder so we ordered some hot chocolate and our favorite bartender Marie added some Bailey's for some additional warmth.

The fresh air must have made us tired since we soon headed to the cabin for an afternoon nap.  I will say that napping gives you power!!   We both felt so energized after that nap.  It was the third formal night so we got ready for our evening.

We started at Vines where Bien brought us out our favorite Sauvignon Blanc and some tapas. Once again, the fried shrimp was outstanding.  We then had our Captains Circle party.  We love going to these since they will announce who is the most traveled guests. We had a bet whether the couple would be over or under 2000 days at sea on Princess.  I picked under and Angie picked over.  But when the announced that the third place couple had 2200 days, I was shocked!!   The most travelled guests had 2900 days at sea on Princess.  Almost 200 sailings.

After that we headed to the Explorer's Lounge for some movie poster trivia.  They had redacted movie posters and you had to guess the film. We ended up with 15 points.  Someone got all twenty!!  Couldn't remember La La Land, Whiplash or Imitation Game. And also had the wrong Avengers title (Infinity Wars NOT Endgame).  After that they had a lip sync battle with the cruise director staff which was entertaining. Each member has a slightly different approach to the competition.  My favorite was the use of sock puppets for "I Had The Time of My Life" from "Dirty Dancing". Including "the Swazi catch".  Had never seen anything like it.

After that it was back to the Vine bar to see the Voyagers party band.  They had a rally great set of dance hits and ended with "I've Got A Feeling"  by the Black Eyed Peas.  They usually play in another larger lounge, but the intimacy of the Piazza (atrium) really suits them.

After that we went to Crooners to catch the last portion of the piano players set.  We hadn't been able to catch any of his set yet. He played crowd favorites.  And people were up dancing.  For those who say Princess cruisers are in bed after 8PM, they haven't really sailed on Princess.  Princess has a lot of party people.  Especially when any Brits are onboard.  There are about 500 onboard from the UK this cruise and their presence is felt!!   They are fun!!

We've had some high swells making the ship rock a bit. So late night continued that trend.  We also has a medical emergency the other night where a guest needed blood. Apparently they are doing as well as possible, but the captain said we are making faster progress to Ensenada than usual to get them to a hospital.  So he said we will get to Ensenada "early".  I expect that means we'll just arrive in the early hours of the morning. Not really a full day early.

Today they will be showing the Super Bowl at many venues. We are one hour behind West Coast time so it will start at 2:30 ship time today.  We booked special seating and food for the game. We check in at 12:30 for that to get our seats.  It will be a fun day. Hopefully the sun comes out to warm things up.  Otherwise we may need to bring the comforter from our cabin to the open deck.

The Brainteaser answer is: Space Invaders
