Sea Day

Yesterday we slept in late.  Didn't leave our cabin until Noon.  We headed to the Eden Cafe for lunch and had arugula salads with chicken and farrow along with a roast turkey sandwich on cranberry ciabatta. Both very good!!

After that we headed to the beautiful thermal suite. We are staying in an AquaClass cabin for this cruise.  One of the perks is unlimited use of the thermal suites.  They have two different steam rooms plus a crystal room.  Also a spa shower area with four different types of mists and sprays. Very relaxing way to start the afternoon!!

We spent the rest of the afternoon at the Solarium pool and had some snacks from the MastGrill which offers burgers and hot dogs.  Soon it was time to head back to the cabin to get ready for another early dinner at Blu. We each had the tuna tataki which was cooked perfectly rare.  It had a very spicy crust and sauce.

I also had the macadamia-crusted sea scallops. Very well fried scallops!!
Angie had the octopus dinner salad and I had the maple glazed salmon.  I was able to get the salmon cooked medium rare which is how I prefer it.  We also shared some ricotta gnocchi which was in a very tasty sauce with leeks.  Not quite as good as the gnocchi from Friday night. Dessert was ice cream. I went with a scoop of vanilla and chocolate topped with caramel.  Angie had her favorite After Eight which is an elevated mint chocolate chip.

After dinner we headed to the show called Kaleidoscope.  It had some great music and choreography along with visuals on the big screens.

After the show we went to Eden where they had the Eden Acoustic Experience.  It was a very interesting concept I had never seen on any of my 85 cruises.  Normally, live musical acts on a cruise are 45 minute sets and then the musicians will take a break.  This was a five piece band of a drummer, bassist, violinist, pianist and lead singer.  But only one or two of them would be playing an acoustic set at one time.  So when we showed up about 8PM, there was a singer and guitarist.

Then at 8:30, the guitarist left to be replaced by another guitarist.  Then at 9:15 the singer left and the guitarist had a solo set until 10PM.  All without breaks in the music.  They started at 6PM. So if you are a fan of live music, you could hang out here all evening.

We left at 10PM to head back to the cabin.  But at 10:15 they were having a Stevie Wonder set followed by a 10:45 set by the whole band.   They are playing most nights so we will definitely catch the whole band at some point.

Today is another sea day.  We started with Captains Club breakfast followed by some time in the thermal suite.  Not sure about lunch yet.  I'm sure we will find something interesting.
