Another Sea Day

Yesterday was another sea day.  We left the cabin earlier than the prior day.  We were at the Captain's Club breakfast by 8:15.  We each had some tea and a fruit plate.  A good assortment of melons, grapes, pineapple and berries.   Then it was off to the spa where we spent some time in the steam rooms and heated loungers until  it was time for lunch.

Lunch was at the Ocean View Cafe (buffet). I was craving a salad so I made a delicious one with arugula, radicchio, cauliflower and zucchini. Tipped with blue cheese.  Also tried a few meatballs I'm Bolognese.   We both had some ice cream for dessert.

It was then time for some electronic trivia in The Club. You logged into your phone and used that for your answers.   Whoever answered correctly the fastest got more points.  There were four rounds with categories of Lifestyle,. TV Streaming, Destinations and Cruising.  Very fun way to have trivia.  And Angie was this resounding winner with over 31K points.  Second place was several thousand points behind. And she earned two prize tickets!!

We then played a table version of an escape room. We played with six other people on a team.  You had to solve different various puzzles on a round white board.  Those answers lead to symbols which were on top of a locked box.  Placing magnets on the correct symbols would open the box and you'd get a key to the final box!!   Our team worked very well together and we won.   The prize was a bottle of sparkling wine!!   Our team toasted to our win.  And we got two more prize tickets!!  Now we have eight. Who knows what kind of prize we will get?  Maybe a pen or a frisbee?

We opted for another early dinner at Blu.  Tonight was the best menu (so far) of the cruise.  Fried brie (not pictured) was small cubes of brie with an Asian chili sauce.  We also both had the most delicious lobster salad.  Huge chunks of Maine lobster tail in a Japanese spicy mayo!!   Really good and exceeded my expectations.   I also had the Spanish poached egg which looked like a quail egg to me. It was served on top of a red sauce that needed a bit more flavor for my taste. And Angie had a corn veloute which is a smooth, creamy soup.  For mains we both had some delicious short ribs with a Cabernet sauce. They also came with green beans and some horseradish mashed potatoes.  Such a smart idea to use the horseradish since it helped cut the richness of the short ribs.

For dessert I had the apple tart and Angie had the chocolate cake. They were okay but we have had better.  We always say we are easy to please and hard to impress.

The show was a Michael Buble tribute.  Not our style.  So we skipped that and hung out at the Martini Bar. There were three different musical acts we got to listen to. One was a solo guitarist, then a band from Argentina and then another guitarist.  All had some great sets. Before the last set, the flair bartenders at the bar put on a show!!

After that we tried our luck in the casino.  Angie found a machine we had never seen before.  It was very patriotic!!  And she ended up winning almost $400!!  I wasn't so lucky but had some fun.

We then headed to Eden and we finally got to see the Eden band in its complete form!  All five members!!  We listened to the last few songs of their set and headed back to the cabin.  A fun filled day.

Today we are in St Maarten.  Our original plan was to take a taxi to Maho Beach and watch the planes. But after asking our friend Bob, he said there weren't any really big planes scheduled for today.  So plans are TBD.  It is a beautiful sunny day.  We'll definitely have some breakfast before we head out.
