9.3.22 Disney Fantasy

We couldn't resist a reduced rate sailing on the Disney Fantasy. We were both very curious that it would like as adults. The evening meals were much better than we remembered and we really enjoyed the experience at both specialty restaurants.

9.3.22 Boarding
We had an easy time boarding. Disney has online check in plus a safe passage website to upload your test and vaccine card. Safe passage can clear you in advance so you don't have to show your test results or vaccine card at the port. We only had to show our passports. It made it so fast. If you didn't get cleared ahead of time, they sent you to a tent in the parking lot for someone else to review your vaccine card and test results.

We boarded at exactly the time we signed up: 1 pm. We were very grateful that they were letting people in the terminal ahead of their boarding time.

We got onboard, checked in at our muster station, and headed to the buffet. It was the most "American" buffet we've seen. Lots of red meat, Mac and cheese,.chicken tenders, etc. They had nice crab claws and shrimp. The salmon was really good.

After lunch, we went to Disney trivia and arts and crafts. We built a 3D ship model from paper.

Our rooms were ready and our luggage was ready so we unpacked. It was Sail Away time so we watched the deck shoe and the found a bar stool with Jovan at the upper deck outside bar to watch sail away.

We headed to the show. We have 8:30 pm dinner so we go to the 6:15 pm show.  It was a ventriloquist Taylor Mason. He did a good job and had some fun audience participation. We got ready for dinner at Royal Court. Raymond and Adi were good servers. We had decent escargot and french onion soup. Glenn got the filet and said it was very good. I had good salmon. Neither were very hot. Dessert was a Mickey Bar.

We grabbed a stool at the Bon Voyage bar in the lobby. There was a duo playing and several characters doing meet and greets. It was fun to watch the excited kids.

That bar had a "sommelier bin" - bottles that they don't have enough left to put on a menu so they sell at $11. The bin held a Moet & Chandon Rose champagne. That goes for $60/bottle at least at the store so a great deal. The bar also has a lot of bourbon so Glenn is happy.

We headed to bed.

9.4.22 Sea Day
We had a great sea day. We had our espresso and then went to the gym. First lunch was at the salad quick service. We visited Jovan for a bloody Mary. Second lunch was the buffet. We took an afternoon nap. I got a pedicure. We had dinner at Palo - the specialty Italian restaurant. It was delicious! After dinner, we hung out for a bit with Amit at Meridian bar. We went to see the adults only magic show with Eric Jones. It was fun.

9.5.22 Sea Day
We had a nice relaxing sea day. We took a ship tour. We got to Meridian Bar right at sunset.

Dinner at the Enchanted Garden and was very good. The highlight was Glenn's sea bass.

Taylor Mason, the ventriloquist, had an adults only show. The one at 7:30 pm was so funny that we went back to the 10:30 pm.

9.6.22 Tortola
We stayed onboard. It rained on and off through the morning. We went to the gym and then finally got a spot in the adults only pool. It has been pretty full on our sunny sea days. We had a nice happy hour on our balcony with a nice cheese plate from room service and some Hook and Ladder Pinot noir.

We went to Meridian to watch sunset and then off to the pirate deck show.

Dinner was back at Royal Court with the "pirate" menu. It was really good. After dinner, we headed back to the cabin. We were hoping the fireworks would be off the port side so we could watch - but they weren't.

9.7.22 St Thomas
We had a gorgeous day in St Thomas. I filmed the ship tour and we enjoyed some pool time. We went to the show - Moonshot - an Acapella group. We were hoping they'd be as good as the group we saw on the Millennium. They were not. We had a fun dinner at Animator's Palate. You could draw a character and then it came to life on screen. Glenn drew our waiter.

It was awesome. The food was very good. We called it an early night.

9.8.22 Sea Day
The highlight of today was Remy's brunch. I got the champagne tasting and got to try Dom Perignon.

It felt so fancy. It was a great meal. I'm so glad we did it. We went to see the Frozen show. They basically show the whole movie as a stage show. It was really good. We ended the night enjoying the full moon and ocean breeze.

9.9.22 Castaway Cay
We had a nice final day onboard. It was Castaway Cay - the private island. We spent the morning doing an interactive game on board. You solved a crime by visiting interactive paintings around the ship. We went to the pool. The ship docked. We headed ashore.

It was too hot and sandy and we are spoiled so we walked around and then came back for a lovely afternoon in the pool. We had a happy hour on the balcony with some Hook and Ladder and watched the Captain dodge the storms. I cannot believe the great weather we had with Earl churning around. So lucky. Dinner was my least favorite, but the main entrees were good and there was a mint chocolate chip sundae - WIN! We sat outside enjoying the full moon. We had an easy disembarkation and drive home.

I still don't think Disney is for us. There's no doubt that it is magical for Disney fans and families. You can just see the joy as they encounter characters.
