7/14/22
We headed to Hill Farmstead Brewery. On the way we stopped at Village Restaurant in Hardwick. It was a great local place.

Hill Farmstead Brewery needed a little more orientation. You have to make reservations to be able to order from the whole beer list, but it's not clear what beers are only available through reservations. We asked the bartender, but he really didn't know. The sours were great.

On the way back, we stopped at Moss Glenn Falls.

And headed to the Scenic Overlook accessed from the Sunset Parking Lot.

We had pre-dinner drinks at Cork. We tried their unicorn wine - a unique wine available by the glass

Dinner was at Whip at the Green Mountain Inn. It was very good.

We took the Gondola to top of Mansfield. You can hike up to the ridge or hike down. You can also buy a drink at the bar and enjoy the Adirondack chairs with great views. Reservations recommended for the quick service restaurant at the top.

Nebraska Sugar Farm maple syrup house is a worthy stop. We met the gentleman who runs the farm. It was a delight and the maple syrup was great.

Lunch at Trapp Family Lodge - We sat outside on the patio and enjoyed the Austrian favorites.

Trapp Family Brewing has a good lunch menu and crisp European lagers.

Alchemist Brewery has great beer and fun set with games and live music.

Stop at Alfie's Wild Ride - great nightlife spot with bands and chill afternoon spot with great beer list.
Dinner at Ranch Camp - Great food and menu Hub for mountain biking
Dessert at Stowe Sweets - Excellent soft serve especially when you sit on a bench and people watch.

After a great visit to Stowe, we headed to Lake Eden. On the way, we stopped at North Country Donuts. We ordered online at 7:00 am because we heard they sellout. It was a great donut. The lemon poppyseed was my favorite. We visited Lost Nation Brewing for lunch. It wasn't memorable. Ten Bends Brewery was a great stop. They had several beers we really enjoyed.

On Sunday, we had an adventure. We visited the Museum of Everyday Life - a fantastic, curated experience focused on aspects of daily life. Then, we headed to Bread and Puppets for their Sunday afternoon performance. It started with a "circus" which was several skits. Then, the main performance took place. It was a modern art experience. I really enjoyed it.

The other day out during our time at Lake Eden was our time at Lake Willoughby. We got great sandwiches at the mini-mart and headed to the South Beach. North Beach has a nice sand beach, but South Beach has better views:

On Friday, we headed to Burlington for the Burlington Beer Fest. We stopped at 158 Main for breakfast along the way and had great food. The beer fest was very good and located right on the shores of Lake Champlain.

We even scored a maple creamee right on the waterfront on our walk back to the hotel. We had a pre-dinner cocktail at Mad River Distillery. We went to American Flatbread for a pizza dinner. We enjoyed listening to a band in the main city square after dinner. We called it an early night and headed out early the next morning. We had to stop at the World's Tallest Filing Cabinet on the way out of town.

Our time at Lake Eden ended. We head to Chester, Vermont. It has the perfect Hallmark movie look. We had a great lunch at Southern Pie Cafe. There was even an aspiring song writer singing songs.

We then headed down to Brattlesboro to meet up with Glenn's brother. We got there a little early so we were excited to see our favorite beer from the beerfest - Hermit Thrush - was in Brattlesboro.

We got to see Glenn's brother business and had a lovely dinner with him and his wife with an ice cream after. The next morning, we headed back to Boston. The Turo car drop off went well and we headed to our Boston hotel.
