We hit the road to head to Key West. We stopped about halfway in Miami at the Kimpton Epic hotel It's right downtown on the water. We had a great dinner sitting at the bar at Boulud Sud across the street. We were surprised to recognize the inside from an episode of Burn Notice.
The next morning, we hit the road nice and early. We stopped for lunch at Hogfish Grill - I'd seen it on TV. It was really good.
The wedding was at Casa Marina in Key West. We checked in, headed to the pool for a little family time, and then got ready for the evening catamaran. We stopped a restaurant close to the dock to try to get a snack, but service was a little slow. Sara got a salad and I got fish dip so we ended up eating it on the dock waiting to board the boat. Guess what they had on the boat? Salad and fish dip - you win some you lose some. The catamaran cruise was gorgeous.
After the cruise, we walked back through the streets of Key West looking for a place for a snack with Sara and Travis. We found a great spot with a rooftop deck overlooking a beer garden with a live band playing.
The highlight of the trip was our Uber. He put on Lionel Richie music video and then a disco ball. It was amazing.
We went to a nice breakfast at the Southernmost Hotel. We enjoyed another day at the pool. The wedding was gorgeous. The rain cleared out just in time.
The next morning, we met up with Brian, Gwen and Jack for breakfast at Blue Heaven. Gwen described it best when she said it was Skipper's cousin. Then, we hit the road. Along the way we stopped at Islamorada Brewing Company and then checked in the Key Biscayne Marriott. We ordered Asian delivery and called it an early night. The drive home was easy.
